ICQ (I Seek You)
- ICQ ("I Seek You") is a program you can download that will let you know when friends and contacts are also online on the Internet. ICQ allows you to page them, chat with them, and initiate and participate in PC-to-PC calls, PC-to-phone and phone-to-phone calling cards calls. Like AOL's Instant Messenger (AIM), in order to use ICQ, both parties must have downloaded the program.
ICS (Internet commerce services)
- The services an Internet commerce provider offers to enable clients to handle many
facets of their business on the Internet.
Iframe
- The iframe element allows web site authors to insert a frame within a block of text. Inserting an inline frame within a section of text is much like inserting an object via the OBJECT element: they both allow you to insert an HTML document in the middle of another, they may both be aligned with surrounding text, etc. Iframes were introduced in Microsoft Internet Explorer version 4. Netscape began supporting iframes with Navigator version 6. RealCart.TV is a good example of the use of iframes. It uses 13 of them.
Interchange
- The exchange of information, transaction data and money among banks.
Interchange systems are managed by Visa and MasterCard associations and
are very standardized so banks and merchants worldwide can use them.

Internet commerce
- A broad term covering all commercial transactional activities on the Internet.
Internet commerce can range from vendors selling software from a Web storefront

not synonymous with e-commerce, which covers all electronic commercial
activities.

ISO (independent service organization)
- A firm or organization that offers to process online credit card transactions,

generally establish a merchant account before contracting for ISO services,
although some ISOs claim not to require separate merchant accounts. See also
factoring.
ISO 9000
- A set of standards for electrical and electronic products, formulated by the
International Standards Organization. Product quality standards in most nations

ISPs often offer connections that can be accessed by dialing a telephone number
through your computer's modem.
